After Air Canada lost my luggage, I bought some little kurtas in Delhi. The course at the NID (national institute of design) in Ahmedabad went very well. the students made some amazing work in one week.

In this six-day course, a cross-disciplinary group of 38 NID students (from New Media, Product Design, and Textiles) examined the theory and applications of "smart objects” and “soft computation". Students designed and built simple interactive objects with embedded electronics, within the conceptual framework of “wellness”.

In the morning lecture component of the course, we presented an overview of previous work, as well as theory and history, in several relevant thematic areas, which included (1) physical interaction design, (2) physical computing, (3) ubiquitous computing, (4) tangible media, (5) wearable computing, (6) technical textile history, (7) electronic textiles, (8) embedded electronics, (9) responsive environments, (10) design research concepts, and (11) related post-graduate research programs internationally.
